Word from the Mouth: Everyone Hates the Cowboys! edition

We have made it through another week and there are only 8 weeks left. Working on Sunday in Brossard kind of sucks, as I miss all the NFL games. I was able to watch the Sunday night game though. Boy, were there ever a lot of injuries yesterday to a bunch of big stars. I wonder which team will suffer the most because of it.

Everyone hates the Cowboys, but how can Atlanta stand back and watch Dallas recover an onside kick. Are the Cowboys any good or do the Falcons suck that much? First, they gave up a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl and now they gave up a 19-point halftime lead. I work with a Falcons fan and I can bet you now that he isn't at work today.

I have tons of games to cover, so let me jump right to covering the MFL.

Week 2 Recap - Division 2

Joey's Haters vs Bitter Boys (21-33)

As everyone knows by now the Haters have a restriction on who can be playing at the same time, but Bitter Boys being who they are said they don't need any restrictions to get the win. Bitter Boys is the team from last fall and not the spring. Mario is back and will help get the defense back in line. JC got hurt for Joey's Haters and I hope he gets better soon, but it wasn't the offense that cost the Haters the game, it was their weak defense. JS played a great game and Guillaume couldn't be stopped. Let's hope that this wasn't a one off for Bitter Boys.

Joey's Haters vs D#Nasty (22-31)

D#Nasty played a great game on both sides of the ball. They didn't allow big play after big play like they have in the past. They were only 6 players and they were focused. Kevin threw 5 TDs and 1 pick, but he made up for the pick by getting 3 back personally from the Haters. My biggest take away from the game was that The Haters have a mediocre defense at best and that Max isn't playing the way he did in 2019, 2020 has not been a good year for Max.

Centurions vs Dolphins (14-24)

There are a few thinks that can be said and taken away from this game. First, let me mention that Centurions were without their starting QB. Second, the Dolphins are a new team and will take a few weeks to gel and should get better, but they should have picked a better name if they want to win more game since the Dolphins don't win much. I have played Jason Rossie a few times and he normally runs a little more often than he did this week, but with guys like Will, Svetna, and a reliable safety outlet in Eric, he shouldn't have to run. I think at season's end, both teams will be competing for a playoff spot.

President's Choice vs Honor Game (14-28)

President's Choice was Rob White's team until he got replaced by Scott Rhodes, who is new to the league and to the smaller field. You kind of feel bad that Rob was given the boot then you see him back on his old the Honor Game which also was the winning side. Dave played a decent game against a new team, but when he plays the better teams in the division, he needs to step up his game. Marvin and the Daoust brothers can't be doing it all by themselves (ed's note: that is literally half the team!). I feel that President's Choice will get better, but not good enough for the playoffs. With Honor Game, they might be 2-0, but I don't feel that they have reached their potential yet. If Dave steps up his game this is a team that I don't want to play in the playoffs.

OK, as you all know all anyone really cares about is offense, but since I have 2 bottles a week to give out, I have decided to pick an offensive and a defensive player of the week. I have also decided to pick 2 players per division for both offense and defense. Finally, some defensive studs will get some recognition.

Here are my picks for week 2.

Offense

#1- Sébastien Béchard 9 catches for 138 yards, 3 TDs and 1 1point convert.

#2- Will Power 6 catches 89 yards and 3 TDs.

Defense

#1- Kevin Marion 2 tackles and 3 picks.

#2- Jocelyn Ouellet 7 tackles and a pick.

Division 3

Offense

#1- Simon Anctil 5 catches 114 yards and 3 TDs.

#2- Alex Larochfor e 8 catches for 83 yards and 2 TDs.

Defense

#1- Greg D'Alesio 6 tackles and 4 sacks.

#2- Maxime Senez 5 tackles and 3 sacks.

Division 4

Offense

#1- Terry Babalis (2 games) 49 of 68 for 440 yards, 11 TDs, 3 1point convert, 2 2point converts, 12 runs for 40 yards.

#2- Thomas Iribarren 2 catches for 62 yards and 2 TDs.

Defense

#1- Robert White (2 games) 3 Tackles and 3 picks.

#2- Brian Tinning 1 tackle and 2 picks.

Just because you didn't make my list this week doesn't mean you didn't ball out; it just means that other people played better than you did so you will need to try harder to make it this week.
