Word From The Mouth: Hall of Fame Weekend Games (Now in new Division 2 Flavour!)

I hope everyone has been enjoying this heat. I know I haven't, but I have a pool that I can go relax in and keep myself cooled off in. You're more than welcome to come join me, but you'd have to know where I live first (Ed's note: just listen for the constant talking from somewhere in the West Island). Last week was a hot one and I'm glad that you all stayed hydrated and no one collapsed. This week should be a little cooler but it is summer and what do you expect.

D#Nasty vs Iron Wolves

rn

rn

Let me start by asking what the heck is going on with the Iron Wolves? With a team loaded with so much talent how do you keep on losing. You have Jon the Hall of Famer, Ian, Andre, Ants, top rusher in Catherine and newly acquired Vince from Gros Coqs. How can you not just walk all over teams (Ed's note: Div 2 is strong!). Last week when they won I thought Jon turned over a new leaf and was going to take some shots, but this week he barely got over 33% completion and just over 100 yards in the air. Jon, you got to do better than that if you expect to make the playoffs and have any chance in repeating. Maybe this is the same thing that happened with Ball Hawks. You win one and you settle for that. Now moving on from those guys to my favourite team in Division 2, D#Nasty. Kevin is playing great this season 22 TDs and only 2 INTs so far. Kevin is able to get his whole team involved on offense which makes it very hard to defend against. On defense these guys just swarm to the ball and force you to work the field. I got to say it would not shock me to see D#Nasty make a serious run in the playoffs. Good luck Iron Wolves on turning it around and keep doing what you been doing D#Nasty.

Old School vs Beaux Garcons

rn

rn

Coming into the season I had high expectations for Old School but those are slowly dwindling away. Over the past 2 weeks they haven't been able to put up more than 12 points while giving up over 30, you can't win with numbers like that. I know that they had guys missing, but when there is so much promise on the team even with 1 or 2 guys not there you should still be fine, someone else needs to step up. Maybe a change of venue will help. The next 2 weeks are games you should be able to get back on track with and hopefully have some momentum going forward into playoffs. Beaux Garcons (formally known as Team Bernier) have come a really long way from the start of the season. Week 1 winning in overtime to beating 3 really good teams over the last few weeks to stay undefeated. JS has a great arm and knows when and where to throw it. Everyone on this team gets touches and tackles each and every week, it's never just 1 guy doing all the work. This week they have 2 games and 1 of them should be a good one against D#Nasty, a rematch from a few weeks ago. I hope I get to see this one.

This Week's GotW: Beaux Garcons vs D#Nasty

rn

rn

This one is a rematch from a few weeks ago where Beaux Garcons handed D#Nasty their only loss of the season so far. Can D#Nasty repay the favour? This is a game between two teams that are very similar: both teams spread the ball around and play really good defense. Beaux Garcons have gone through a gauntlet of hard games; will they be able to continue it or will it have taken a toll on them? We'll find out on Saturday at 10:30. D#Nasty rebounded with an impressive win coming off their only loss of the season. What did they learn from last time theses 2 teams met and will they use that in this game? I hope that I get to see this game first hand but if I don't I'm sure I'll hear about it. Good luck to both teams and lets hope for an exciting game that comes down to the wire.

Predictions

rn

rn

Division 2 predictions are a little harder for me since I don't know all the teams the way I know them in division 1. Still, last week I went 6 for 6 for the first time all season. I doubt I'll be doing that again anytime soon. For the season I have gone 22 out of 34 almost 65% it's getting better. On average I'd love to get 75% or higher but you guys are making it tough.

That's it for this week some teams are doing great some need to start playing better as playoffs are just a few weeks away. Remember that we are moving over to Park Le Ber. All the captains should have sent out all the info on the park location. Good luck this week and see you all on Saturday.
