Word From The Mouth: The Penultimate Regular Season Week Edition (Now in Div 2 Flavour!)

Hello and welcome back to the last week of the regular season. I'm glad to hear that we finally have a permanent home to play at, so no more moving and the field is in pretty decent shape. Now that we are into the final week some teams are still trying to find chemistry which if you haven't found it by now it might be too late, but with 8 out of 10 teams making the playoffs who really knows. My opinion is that only 6 should make it but Jon makes the rules and wants to make sure he gets in.

Game Recap

This week I saw two division 2 games and neither one was close or really exciting but I will let you know about who showed up and did something.

Beaux Garçons vs Vindicators

I want to start by saying this wasn't close right from the start. One team showed up to play and the other was just taking space on the field, I'm sure that you can tell which one each was. I will say Vindicators had a few people that played all game and did something. Katherine played solid on defense amassing 6 tackles. Way to go, your team will miss you this weekend but enjoy Europe. I think that this might be the first game where Aftab didn't throw an INT but with only 7 completions that won't get you the win unless you score a few on defense which didn't happen today. For Beaux Garçons it was a solid effort from everyone on the team but there were 2 guys that really stood out and that was Guillaume with 8 catches 100 yards and 1 TD if you add his 1 point convert he single handily beat Vindicators for points and yards. The other guy is JS but I'm not going to talk about him throwing the ball but how he ran the ball: 2 runs 14 yards and a score. For a guy with bad knees he looked pretty good running around. Vindicators keep playing it will come Beaux Garçons are a very good team and you have nothing to be ashamed of, they have beaten better teams by more points. Last week boys go out play hard and you never know who is going to win, well I do but you'll have to read to the end to find out.

Game of the Week: Nice TDs vs 7th Rounders

This game is a great final week match up. The 7th rounders are trying to get into my top 3 and the Nice TDs are trying to stay there. Both teams have a playoff spot locked up so maybe a few guy are going to rest. I know I prefer to be out there playing rather than at home or the sideline. At this point of the season guys are banged up on both teams but you need to push through the pain and help your team win. Statistically both teams are pretty even but I will break this one match up down by position and who I give the edge to.

QB I would give it to Kris from Nice TDs. He has way more experience.

WR was a close one but I would have to go with Nice TDs since they spread the ball around more. After the top 3 for the 7th Rounders there is a huge drop off in production.

Defense both teams are pretty even on the defensive side of the ball but I have to give the edge to Nice TDs in that category also just because of the rusher Greg.

Now don't get me wrong even though I gave Nice TDs the edge in every aspect of the game it comes down to who wants its more.

Predictions

I have one more week to try and get up to my goal of 75%, so I hope last week helped me out a little. I was able to go 5 for 5 with a perfect week that should bring me up from the 68% I was sitting at. My total for the season now is 37 out of 52 for a 71% so even if I go 7 for 7 this week I will end up just short of my goal. How short wait and see next week.

It's been a long and hot season this year and we are into the final regular season game. We have made it all this way and some of you guys will be back in the fall and some won't others might try and move up a division.
